The rest of our teams complete this weekend and a full set of results will be posted in next weeks newsletter.

Free Beach Volleyball

Tuesday and Thursday 2-4pm

Summer is rapidly coming to an end. Come to the beach while we can.  Come find why it is my happy place.

Making the Cut Camp individual sessions

At the beginning of August, the Elite Making the Cut Camp has opened up the option to register for individual sessions allowing the athletes who cannot attend all 12 sessions to pick and choose the sessions which meet their busy time schedule.  The full registration is for all twelve of the sessions and includes a camp t-shirt and a journal.  The individual session registrations do not include the t-shirt and journal but can be bought at the camp.

Good and Bad News

Making the Cut Camp

The good news is that it is only 21 days away, the bad news it is only 21 days away and is at the end of the summer.
The bad news is that we have canceled the Youth Making the Cut camp due to low enrolment and the good news is that the Elite Making the Cut Camp is oversold and will be using the gym time which was rented for the Youth Camp.  This change allows for a few more spots in the Elite Camp.  If you were registered in the Youth Camp you will have gotten an email explaining how to proceed.   Contact us if you have any questions.

Making the Cut Memo One

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be sharing information to prepare the athletes for the Making the Cut Camp. If you have a friend that is interested in the camp get them to register soon as there are very limited spots left.
This is memo one share it with the attending athlete.
  1. Use your Academy Journal,! We want you to see you accomplish your goals and track your improvements. We also want to tailor our feedback to what YOU want to work on.
  2. We know that you all have been coached by different people in the past. But, this week at camp we may want you to try things a little bit differently than what you are used to. No coach is wrong, but we just ask that you try it our way for this camp.
  3. You will get out of camp what you put into it—so we ask that you come into the gym every day with 110% effort and a positive attitude. You WILL get better if you can bring those two things with you each day
  4. If you’re on time, you’re late. We ask that you arrive at least 10 min. prior to the start of the day to put on your shoes/kneepads/etc. and socialize with your peers
  5. Put distractions through you, rather than let them rule you. What we mean by that is that we want everyone to be focused on the task at hand so improvements can happen. It is hard to get better when you are thinking about what you are going to eat for lunch or what movie you are going to watch after camp is over.
  6. We need to know where you are at all times. If you need to see the trainer or run to the bathroom just let someone know. We plan to give you a lot of water breaks, so please don’t ask to grab a drink—unless it is an emergency.
  7. When we work in groups or partners, we challenge you to meet someone new! After all, winning and losing are only temporary, but friendships last forever. You never know who your new best friend could be!
  8. We only have 4 days of camp! Take advantage of the staff that is working here—they all have been around the game for a long time and have a great volleyball IQ. Ask questions or talk to them whenever you want! If you don’t understand something do not be afraid to ask. We are here to help you become the best volleyball player you can be.
  9. Be present. Do not worry about the upcoming season or your competition. Compete against yourself and keep getting better one rep at a time.
  10. We want you to have the best camp ever and learn lots of new skills! Don’t worry about the errors—focus on the things you are doing right.
