Bring your own ball.

Each participant must bring their own ball to sessions.

Spiking session and Friday Pickup Game are the two sessions which happen this week. The waitlist worked as it should, the spike session on Tuesday was full and had a three-plus waitlist and I went looking for another coach and Michele McKeown was available and we interested the spots to twenty and it sold out as well. So exciting every session is selling out.  We have had two athlete required to drop out due to injury so we do have two spots still left as I do not believe that someone should have to pay for a session they cannot attend due to injury.
Friday pickup games have always been a favorite of mine, two hours of unstructured play. It is only.5.00 dollars per participant under 18 and free for all parents, older brothers and sisters and any older interested participants.  We play music and supply the ball...come play it is a hoot.

Says it all.

A sign with a saying to live by.

Neat sign

Found this sign at a school in Swift Current at a Volleyball tournament...Thought it was cool.

One of the things we want from our volleyball players is to understand the benefits of sports and what they teach. Sportsmanship, morals and all ethics are all a large part of sports and something all parents, coaches and other athletes need to make sure they part of our volleyball sport.    If you have any great motivations posters or signs or says...share.

Pickup games last minute notice was sent to 255 subscribers of the Canadian Elite Academy list on MailChimp!

Can you compete with our Elite Academy Coaches?

Be aware that tonight's game is at Forest Grove School, 501, 115 ST East, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada not the normal EverGreen School.

Tonight (Friday, February 8th) is pickup game night...any gender, any age, any skill level are all invited to an open gym pickup volleyball game.  Cost per participant is $5.00 or $40 dollars for a team (13 players max)  Invite a friend and your parents

The picture above is not a good representation of the female coaching staff at the Elite Academy.  Remember it is cold outside but the volleyball action at Forest Grove School will be hot.  (Excuse the sick pun.)

What to do on a Cold Wednesday!

Remind me again why we live here?

On cold days like today, two things run through my head.  Firstly, why do I live here when I could be running a beach volleyball academy someplace with white sand and heat?  Secondly, I am so thankful that Volleyball is an indoor sport.  I realize that I could be passionate about cross country skiing and be outside which means on days like today where the air hurts my face would not be good for morale.

If you are looking for something to do today we have four hours of volleyball planned from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.  (If you sign up for one of the sessions you can attend both (2 for 1 sale)  The topics are basic serving and advanced spiking but the sessions are very undersubscribed I think I have a total of 4 athletes for the two sessions.  That might be due to weather, other practices, and people just be plain busy.  I really like the session with a small number of participants as it allows me to really help the participants with their skills and to tailor the session to the participants but it makes me curious as to why the number is so low.

Which of the following factors has the biggest impact on your ability to attend a session?
*|Survey: Session Time|*
*|Survey: Day of the week|*
*|Survey: Time of Year|*
*|Survey: Session Topic|*
*|Survey: Session Coach|*
*|Survey: Session Cost|*

Thanks in advance for answering the mini-survey.

REGISTER NOW for either of the sessions and you can attend all four hours.  Hope to see you this evening.
