It is a Jolly Volleyball Season!

Club teams have been chosen, the players are either happy or heartbroken, and the SaskCup and Tournaments will happen.  The Academy will continue to offer sessions.  There will be breaks for the holidays, but we will be offering a slate of sessions. Check out the sessions that fit your schedules.  (Private lessons are the most flexible, and the Academy also runs sessions for club teams to help with upcoming tournaments. The session list! Private sessions There are always private lessons; pick a date and time, and we will do what we can to find a coach and some gym time. Learn more 11–13-Year-Old Skill Training – December 1- December 8 – Sold out It is nice to the interest at the younger age athletes, and it does mean we have to make sure we have more sessions for this age group December Jump Training – December 2 – December 9 It is vital to build a solid foundation in agility, strength and jumping to play volleyball.  Learn More Serving Session – December 2 This is the most popular skill session that the academy runs. Learn More Hitting Harder – December 9 This is the second most popular skill that the academy runs. Learn More January Jump Training – January 4 – January 27 Lots of days, build the foundation.  You will notice a change.  Put the work in to make your game better. Learn More Basic Elite Academy Skills -January 5 – January 31 The new group of sessions for the serious volleyball player. Learn More Volleyball Basic and Advanced Blocking – January 6 Everyone needs to learn the frontline of a team's defence.  Think about learning this skill.  This is for everyone, even if you are still working on getting about the net's height. Learn the basics and then move on to the advanced when the jump training kicks in. Learn More Volleyball Basic and Advanced Passing – January 11 and January 13 Being a good passer is the basis of a good team member.  If you can pass well, you are valuable to your team.  Learn to do it right. Christmas Give Away

 

Christmas Giveaway As said at the top of this newsletter, we will be explaining our Christmas giveaway.  The Academy advertising is done via word of mouth. This contest will help in that endeavour and put some very cool merch into the hands of some creative people on our mailing list.  This contest will be looking for the best video about the Academy.  Players, parents, friends, or anyone with a volleyball heartbeat must create a video about the Academy to enter the contest.  The video must be 15 seconds to 5 minutes long and contain a single person or many people.  The rules are as follows, the videos will be shared with the academy volleyball community, so they must be rated for all ages.  The music, people, images, the soundtrack must be royalty-free.  The video can be posted on any social media. Then an email must be sent to Academy to tell us where to find it.  It can also be sent or shared directly to the Academy.  Show us your creative side, remember I was an art teacher for many years so I will be one of the judges and will be looking for the artistic video.

Prizes The first prize for this contest is a Baden Lexum Volleyball  $85.00 value, some volleyball stickers, and Volleyball Clothing.
