The League is now open to registration.

The Development Leagues are now taking registrations.

If you are registered on a 2024 club team you cannot register for this league.

The League emphasizes punctuality, fairness, and a focus on developing teamwork skills. Athletes should arrive 15 minutes early for their set time to ensure readiness. Teams consist of nine players, six on the court and three subs, with fair play and equal participation.

The goal is to foster leadership, teamwork, and skill development. Athletes not on club teams are eligible, promoting inclusivity. Each of the six games will have the athletes playing a different starting position and group of athletes.

Age determination is based on January 12th. The league discourages changing age groups. The emphasis is on challenging oneself and elevating teammates. A royalty of the court is crowned based on points earned over 12 weeks. (3 points for a win, 1 point for tie, and no points for a lost.)

Missing a week means no points, and refunds aren't provided to cover costs. The pilot project aims for affordability, using a familiar venue on Friday. The focus is on creating a positive and developmental environment for all participants.

Athletes should bring a warm-up volleyball and keep track of their shoes and equipment as they will be moving to a different court every 15 minutes. No points or refunds will be given for any missed Friday games.

Games will occur every Friday from January 12 until March 29th. (12 fridays). There is only spots for 35 athletes.

🌟 Academy News & Updates - November 2023 📢

Registration and Audience: 📋📢

During this period, we've had a fantastic 958 registrations for our sessions. Our newsletter now reaches a broad audience of 1,547 contacts with 1,040 subscribers. We sincerely appreciate your continued support.

Thank You to Our Coaching Staff: 🙏👏

The backbone of our success is undoubtedly our dedicated coaching staff. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed their time and expertise to the Academy's growth.

Board of Directors: 🏢👥

In March 2023, the Academy officially became a non-profit organization. We established a board with nine actively involved members to help guide our organization. Crystal Torgunrund and Jessica Leith serve as co-presidents alongside six Members at Large. We'd also like to thank Tamara Larre, our former Secretary, for her invaluable contributions during our early non-profit journey. The other members are Rob Dzadiak, Toako Chie Imamura, Krista Klimosko, Leanne McGettigan, Kendra Megaffin, Sandi Nieth and Katie Young.

Annual General Meeting (AGM): 🗓️📣

Please mark your calendars for our upcoming AGM, scheduled for January 14. We'll have a parent information meeting from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m., followed by the AGM from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. (location to be announced). We're looking for new board members to help us continue growing.

Coaching Opportunities: 🏐👨‍🏫

The Academy is always open to new coaches. Whether you're an uncertified coach looking to start your coaching journey or an experienced coach, we invite you to join us. Our flexible coaching approach allows you to coach according to your availability.

Refund Policy: 💰🔁

At the Academy, we understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes, you may need to change your session registrations. Our refund policy is designed to be fair and considerate to all participants while maintaining the sustainability of our programs. Here are some key details regarding our refund policy:

  1. Sickness: If a child cannot attend a session due to illness for a single day, we do not offer a refund. This policy is in place because such absences are often identified close to the session's start time, making it challenging to fill the vacant spot.
  2. Participant History: We consider a participant's history with the Academy. Those who have been with us for an extended period and have attended multiple sessions are more likely to be considered for a refund, should the need arise.
  3. Scheduling Issues: While we understand that scheduling conflicts can occur, a lack of organization on the registrant's part is not a valid reason for a refund. We encourage participants to plan their schedules accordingly.
  4. Unforeseen Circumstances: Refunds are provided in cases of unexpected major injuries, family activities, and school activities. We aim to be flexible and understanding in these situations.
  5. Preventing Abuses: Our policy is designed to discourage individuals from registering for sessions simply to reserve a spot to back out at the last minute. Such actions have financial implications, including staffing costs, gym rentals, and the overall number of participants. Please help us maintain the system's fairness by reviewing and adhering to the refund policy.

We encourage all participants to familiarize themselves with the full refund policy on our registration website. This will also enable us to track refund requests more efficiently and adapt the policy to serve the needs of our participants better.

Session Levels: 🏐📊

The Academy offers a diverse range of session levels to cater to athletes at various skill stages. We believe in helping athletes find the right level for their development. Here's a detailed breakdown of our session levels:

  1. Beginner Sessions: 🌟🏃‍♂️Ideal for athletes who are just starting their volleyball journey. Beginners may work on coordination, building strength, and developing foundational skills.
  2. Basic Sessions: 📚🏐Participants at this level have a decent foundation but may need to work on enhancing the consistency of their skills and improving their strengths.
  3. Elementary Sessions: 🎯🤝 These sessions are for athletes with prior experience playing competitive volleyball. Here, the focus is on perfecting foundational skills, accuracy, and strength.
  4. Intermediate Sessions: 🥇🤾‍♂️ Athletes in this category have a strong foundation of consistent skills and should strive to make every contact with a clear purpose.
  5. Advanced Sessions: 🚀🏆 It is reserved for athletes who possess advanced skills and can execute precisely and purposefully. These sessions challenge athletes to perfect their skills.

It's important to note that moving to a higher level does not guarantee faster improvement. Athletes are encouraged to err on the side of choosing a lower-level session if they're unsure. Building a solid foundation and consistent skill development are the keys to long-term success.

We aim to help athletes grow while ensuring they have fun and enjoy their sessions. The right level of challenge, paired with the appropriate skill foundation, is crucial for athletic development.

We hope this detailed information about our refund policy and session levels provides clarity and assists you in making the best choices for your journey at the Academy. Your satisfaction and progress are our top priorities.

Volleyball Supply: 🏐✨

We believe in skill development at home, so we don't supply volleyballs. Athletes are encouraged to bring their own ball for sessions.

Upcoming Camps: 🏕️👟

Don't miss our "Making the Club Camps." These camps are not exclusive to club players. Level one is for the under-15 group, and level two is for those over 15. The camp will run on January 2, 3, and 4, providing an excellent opportunity to refine your skills.

New Year, New League: 🎉🏀

Starting in the new year, we're introducing a league for non-club athletes. Players can register for either the elementary or high school level and enjoy four games every week. It's a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills.
